This shop roll is made of sharp durable aluminum oxide grain on a heavy ""C"" weight paper backing with a full phenolic resin bond system and a non-loading zinc stearate treament. These open coat discs deliver a fast cut and exceptionally long life.
With its tough, wedge-shaped structure, aluminum oxide delivers deep penetration into hard materials while minimizing grain shedding and fracturing. It is especially effective for grinding high-tensile-strength materials such as carbon steels, alloy steels, tough bronzes, and hardwoods. Chosen when durability and resistance to fracturing are critical, aluminum oxide abrasives are most often recognized by their typical brown color.
