Diamond is the hardest material on Earth. Polycrystalline Diamond (PCD) tooling is produced in a high-temperature, high-pressure laboratory process that fuses diamond particles onto a carbide substrate, allowing the diamond cutting edge to be brazed onto the tool body. This PCD-tipped compression CNC router bit is designed for grooving, jointing, and rabbeting a wide range of tough, abrasive materials, including composites, particleboard, MDF (raw or melamine-faced), veneer, and hardwoods. Compared to carbide, PCD cutting edges provide significantly longer tool life, making them ideal for high-volume and demanding applications. RPM Multipliers for Different Materials: Chipboard without coating: Max RPM x 1.1, Cross-grain veneer: Max RPM x 0.7, MDF: Max RPM x 0.8. A single flute bit has a faster cut speed than a multiple flute bit and should be used where cut speed is more important than cut finish. Though a single flute bit has a rougher cut than a multiple flute bit, it allows for faster chip clearance and maximum stock removal. Single flute bits are typically more suitable for being used on lower horsepower router.
